Warm weather brings people outside, but termites inside

We haven't reached 76 degrees since September 22nd, so it’s no surprise that so many people have been out and about, walking around and enjoying the day. It looks like March will be going out like a lamb.
"It's a nice reprieve to the cold and the dark and the damp from the long, long winter,” says Anne Seno, who was enjoying lunch outside today.
On this beautiful day, people are really getting back in the "swing" of spring.
There's nowhere Louis Baker would rather turn 93-years-old than on the golf course.
"It's April Fool Day and it's my birthday,” he says. “Maybe I’ll play 9 holes of golf.”
And it's a day to play hooky.
"Everybody should be playing hooky today,” says Dr. Phillip DePauw, who golfed the afternoon away. "It's a perfect day to be out in the fresh air and sunshine. This is heaven."
As you take a bite out of this sunshine, beware of what else is chewing. This is also the termite season.
"The structural damage that could happen to a house can be pretty significant and they can actually get to work on that and have an impact pretty quickly,” says Bob Seske of Rose Pest Solutions.
Soak in the fantastic weather, but just remember you might get termites, too.
The exterminators plan on being very busy with termite problems the next few weeks, especially if it rains this weekend, like expected.
The high temps and humidity make for a perfect combination for tens of thousands of termites to start invading homes.
You’ll know if you have a termite problem if you see huge crowds of the insects. Also, take note if any wood in your home is deteriorated. That's a sign you should call a professional exterminator.
